IIC Disruption Of Service Due to Lighting Flash

UPDATE:

A temporary contingency has been applied to get MAGIC 102.7 FM programming broadcast on the HOTT 107.5 FM frequency, which was deemed appropriate since the significant majority of Live Radio Shows are aired on MAGIC. Consequently, MAGIC 102.7 FM will remain off-air until the transmitter is replaced next week. Therefore listeners will hear the regular programming content of MAGIC on HOTT 107.5 FM until MAGIC is able to resume transmission of its terrestrial signal on 102.7 FM.

STATEMENT FROM IIC

Inter-Island Communications Limited (IIC), CEO Glenn Blakeney takes this opportunity to inform the public about the disruption of service that resulted from HOTT 107.5 FM and MAGIC 102.7 FM being knocked off the air when a severe lightning flash hit the transmitter tower last night.

Mr. Blakeney was at the tower site all morning working with IIC Chief Engineer to resolve the equipment malfunction issues.

MAGIC’s terrestrial signal remains off-air, so listeners won’t hear the station when listening to stereo systems at home, their workplace, on car radios or transistor radios. However, listeners are still able to receive the HOTT FM transmission, although Live MAGIC programming content will be heard (on HOTT)

Notwithstanding, it should also be noted that both stations can be heard via their 24-hour online internet 🛜 streams.

Mr. Blakeney would like to convey his apology for the disruption to service albeit due to extenuating circumstances beyond IIC’s control and he expresses his appreciation in advance to loyal listeners for their understanding, patience and indeed their continued support.

Related updates will be communicated accordingly.

Thank You.
